Project Overview

The project involves the redevelopment of Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital, with CPB Contractors appointed by Health Infrastructure to deliver the early contractor involvement phase. Operated by the Sydney Local Health District, the redevelopment will provide new and upgraded health facilities designed to meet growing community needs and enhance patient and staff amenities across one of NSW’s busiest tertiary hospitals.

The project will deliver an expanded and enhanced Emergency Department and Intensive Care Units, state‑of‑the‑art operating theatres, improved adult inpatient accommodation, increased interventional and imaging services, expanded neonatology services, and a new open garden courtyard. Upgrades to the public domain, including improved roads, wayfinding and landscaping, will further strengthen connectivity and the overall hospital experience.

This redevelopment project balances complex clinical requirements, live‑hospital interfaces and significant operational upgrades. Its scale and strategic importance underscore RPA’s role as a leading centre for specialist care, research and teaching, ensuring the hospital can continue to deliver world‑class services to the community well into the future.
