Project Overview
The project involves the upgrade of the heritage listed 1866 Singleton Police Station, transforming it into a modern, fit for purpose policing facility that expands operational capacity and enhances frontline service delivery for the Upper Hunter region.
The redevelopment includes a new two storey operations wing accommodating the Crime Prevention Unit, Detectives Unit, Proactive Crime Unit, General Duties, Duty Rooms, Highway Patrol Command and Police Prosecutors. The project also refurbishes the existing heritage buildings for secure storage, delivers a new ground floor extension, and provides upgraded staff amenities including briefing rooms, conference spaces, locker rooms, bathrooms and meal areas. Additional works include on site vehicle accommodation, a secure van dock and infrastructure to support continuous 24 hour operations.
As a major NSW Government investment, the project balances the preservation of a significant heritage asset with the delivery of contemporary policing requirements, ensuring the station remains a central and resilient hub for community safety. Its combination of heritage constraints, operational complexity and the need to maintain essential services throughout delivery underscores the project’s scale and importance to the region.
