Project Overview

The Kwinana Gas Power Generation 2 (K2) Project is a new 220 MW open-cycle, dual-fuel gas turbine power station being delivered for AGL Energy in the Kwinana Industrial Area, south of Perth.

The project includes turbine installation, balance-of-plant works, civil and structural packages, and electrical and mechanical systems, co-located with the existing Kwinana Swift Power Station to provide fast-start, flexible generation.

As Western Australia transitions away from coal-fired power by 2030, the facility will strengthen the state's dispatchable generation capacity and create more than 200 jobs during construction.
