Project Overview

The HMAS Harman Redevelopment Project is a Department of Defence infrastructure upgrade at HMAS Harman, Jerrabomberra, in the Australian Capital Territory, delivered by Richard Crookes Constructions under a head contract valued at approximately AU$116 million. The project sustains and modernises an ageing naval communications base, delivering new and upgraded engineering services infrastructure alongside expanded office and operational facilities.

The scope includes an upgraded base entry precinct, new and refurbished office and command accommodation, a new gymnasium, and refurbished living-in accommodation upgraded to meet current compliance requirements. The works also involve the reconfiguration and upgrade of engineering services infrastructure, including electrical systems with spare capacity for future growth, an enclosed multi-purpose court area adjoining the existing basketball court, and the demolition of redundant buildings.
