Project Overview
Gadigal Station is a 250m underground metro station in the Sydney CBD, delivered by CPB Contractors for Sydney Metro as part of Sydney Metro City & Southwest. The station sits between Pitt and Castlereagh Streets, extending from Park Street to Bathurst Street, and reached construction completion in August 2024.
The platforms are located 17–20m below street level, with entrances at Park Street to the north and Bathurst Street to the south. The works included 14 escalators, five lifts, 470 façade panels weighing up to 11 tonnes each, and more than 1,700 locally sourced sandstone panels. The design achieved a six-star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.
As a new station in the heart of the CBD, the project strengthens connectivity across Sydney's transport network. Its delivery involved more than 10,000 workers, over 5,000 hours of workforce training, and more than AU$24m spent with Indigenous and social enterprise businesses.
