Project Overview

The Ormeau Rail Facility is a new 66-hectare operations and maintenance precinct being delivered in the Gold Coast region to support the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), connecting directly to the Gold Coast Line via new northern and southern rail links.

The facility incorporates maintenance workshops, administration buildings, internal access roads, train wash and graffiti removal systems, and a stabling yard for up to 20 trains, supported by complementary works including the Goldmine Road upgrade, rail connection infrastructure and signalling improvements.

As a core component of the QTMP, the facility will expand long-term fleet capacity, improve network reliability and strengthen operational resilience across South East Queensland, while supporting regional economic growth through construction activity and ongoing employment..
