Fionn McDonagh
Project Engineer
Consultant
Professional Summary
Fionn is a Civil and Energy Systems Engineer with over six years of experience managing projects for clients and asset owners through design, procurement, construction and handover, across Ireland and Australia. His experience spans energy storage, onshore wind, residential and commercial property development, and civil infrastructure delivery, working within client-side, developer and consultant environments.
Fionn's core strength is client-side project management, running tender processes and appointing and managing consultants and contractors against scope, programme and budget. He led planning, grid connection and OEM procurement for a first-of-its-kind utility-scale energy storage facility, negotiating directly with a transmission system operator and regulators, and directed a major community engagement programme in the face of organised opposition. He has also delivered property developments from business case and financing through to construction completion and managed the full project lifecycle on residential and commercial developments from land acquisition to handover.
His technical grounding includes project risk registers and development plans, tender documentation, feasibility and technical assessment (including Turbine Delivery Route and Grid Delivery Route studies), construction site inspection against building regulations and approved drawings, and planning application preparation and submission.
